June 2010

Our 5th Anniversary at St. Elmo's Steak House in Indianapolis (Rob had a weekend
conference so the family joined him!).

Rob finally had an early enough hockey game that Cullen got to see his daddy score 2 goals!

It has been hot, hot, hot in Cincinnati this June!! Loving the hose and baby pool on our deck.

Cullen LOVES the "Wa-wa" at our club! They have a "splash pad" that Cullen never wants to leave. When we turn down the street to the club Cullen starts chanting "the wa-wa!"

This picture makes us think of Cullen replacing Tom Cruise in Risky Business!

In Waverly, OH for Rob's Aunt Linda and Uncle Mack's 50th Anniversary.

Of course I have my own pair of Wayfarers!

Pool side with Grandpa in Waverly, OH.

Dan and Kristen got to come back to Cincinnati again for a wedding!

Don't make me throw this water balloon at you!

Spring 2010, overdue update!

Cullen getting some fresh air on a rainy day with Grandma and Grandpa O'Brien!

Rob's Aunt Judy and Aunt Linda came to visit Cullen when Rob's parents were in town, sorry we missed you!

Happy 2nd Mother's Day! We went to brunch in Mariemont and went shopping!

Cullen LOVES the Cincinnati Zoo!

Rob's family and Dan's girlfriend Kristen came to town for the Cincinnati "Flying Pig Marathon!" Jackie, Rob, and Kristen all ran the half marathon and Dan finished the whole sha-bang!

Run Mommy run!
Nothing like waking up at 5:00 on a Sunday morning to go for a run in the midst of pouring down rain, thunder, and lighting! Good idea by Dan to at least stay downtown at the Westin the night before!

Jackie and Rob went to a Kentucky Derby themed charity benefit for a local non-profit Rob sits on the board for and guess who the big winners were for the silent and raffle auctions???

Still LOVES bath time!

Easter in Chicago with Jackie's family. Had a great time and good to see Grandma Johnson before her move to Dallas and the Wilmette house goes on the market.

Cullen and his friend Grace at Ms. Julie's Easter egg hunt in Cincinnati.

Spring Break

Sorry it's been so long since we've updated our blog! We recently got back from spring break in Florida. Cullen was another great traveler. He makes traveling so easy! He even helps me take off his shoes when we go through security! In Florida, we spent time walking the beach, playing in the pool, and just relaxing. Now that spring break is over, it's hard to believe that once I go back to school on Tuesday, I will only have 1 quarter left. This has been a very fast school year! Cullen has really begun talking. He loves to mimic anything and everything that we say. He now says please (pees) when he wants something and his favorite word continues to be ba-ball. :) Some other words are... cracker, back, then, apple, Obama (which his Grandpa O'Brien taught him), cheese, and others. At daycare, he's sitting at the big boy table in a big boy chair (no booster seat) and loves to dance to The Wiggles cd. I think he must wear out Miss Julie with all of his dancing! Cullen went on an Easter egg hunt last week that was hosted by the Mariemont Preschool Parents Group. He loved to find the eggs and drop them in his basket. He even helped out some of the other kids by putting the eggs in their baskets. As some of you have already heard, we have listed our house. It's hard to believe that we've been in this house for almost 5 years. We're ready for our next house with a little more room. Here is the link to our listing. Please pass it along to anyone you know that might be interested.

I will post our pictures soon so check back in the next few days.

Snow Day!

We've enjoyed our recent snow days. Cullen went sledding for the first time and loved it! He also loved dragging his red saucer through the snow even though it was twice his size. He continues to be a happy, laid back 17 month old. He has begun talking more and more each day. His favorite words are football and ba-ball. Cullen loves to point out balls that he sees around him. We were at the grocery store and he kept pointing at the cantaloupe and saying "ba-ball." He was right- the cantaloupe was shaped like a ba-ball!! He has also made it a ritual to knock the knocker on the front door as we enter. This drives Ritz nuts! Some of his latest words...buh buy, please, and more. We are learning parts of the body now. He knows belly, mouth, hair, and feet. It's so amazing to see him learning more every day. His teeth have finally begun to come through. It seemed like he only had 2 teeth for the longest time. He's up to 6 teeth now! We will go in next month for his 18 month check-up. It's hard to believe that he's almost 1 1/2!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We were quite the travelers this holiday season! We drove to Augusta, GA and spent Christmas with Jackie's parents and brother, Judson. We then flew down to Anna Maria Island, FL to spend New Years with Rob's parents, brother Dan, and his girlfriend, Kristen.

A few highlights from our holiday:
1. Rob found a tuxedo from H&M and Cullen wore it on New Years Eve to celebrate the new year and his grandpa's 60th birthday. He wore it to bed and looked like a wedding crasher the next day. :)
2. Cullen was a fantastic traveler in the car and on the plane. Besides having a major blowout just 5 minutes before boarding the plane! Let's just say, that all of his clothes were disposed of!
3. We were able to meet Lucas Diclemente and spend some time with our good friends Matt and Lydia Diclemente.
4. We enjoyed many wonderful dinners cooked by Jackie's mom.
5. We attended the Festival of Lights with our friends Sarah and Brian Kellett and their daughter Grace (Cullen's girlfriend :)
6. Cullen had his first experience on the golf course while in GA. He loved to drop the golf ball in the hole.
7. A special visit from Santa.
8. As crazy as all of the traveling was, we absolutely loved all of our time with family and friends.

Our little James Bond who's posing for the camera!
